Installation and Upgrade

You can upgrade from an existing Sybase® Unwired Platform version 1.5.5 installation to version 2.0.

Note: If you have upgraded a developer installation from Unwired Platform version 1.2 in steps to version 1.5.5, be sure that you have manually migrated your Unwired WorkSpace projects before you upgrade to version 2.0. See Sybase Unwired Platform Installation Guide, "Migrating Unwired WorkSpace Projects from Version 1.2" topic.

In-place Upgrade
Upgrade to Unwired Platform version 2.0 by running the installer where version 1.5.5 is installed, overwriting that installation.
Silent Installation and Uninstallation
If you know the exact settings you want to specify during installation or uninstallation, you can automate the process.
Afaria
Afaria is now separately licensed. Afaria is no longer part of the Unwired Platform installation. However, you can still purchase Afaria with a separate license and use it as part of your extended mobility environment to deploy device applications and enhance device security.
Device Application Designer
Device Application Designer is no longer part of the Unwired Platform installation. For native device application development, see the Developer Guides.
