Database Options Changes

Sybase IQ 15.4 includes enhancements to database options.

• ANSI_SUBSTRING Option [TSQL] – The default value in 15.4 (and 15.3) changed to OFF. Default values in recent releases:
  • 15.4 – OFF
  • 15.3 – OFF
  • 15.0 - 15.2 ESD3  – ON
• DEFAULT_PROXY_TABLE_ROW_COUNT Option – a new database option enabling you to override the default estimate for the number of rows to be returned from a proxy table. See Reference: Statements and Options > Database Options > Alphabetical List of Options > DEFAULT_PROXY_TABLE_ROW_COUNT option.
• DEFAULT_TABLE_UDF_ROW_COUNT Option – a new database option enabling you to override the default estimate for the number of rows to be returned from a C, C++, or Java table UDF. • MAX_FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS Option – now applies to users with DBA authority. Unlike other users, DBA accounts automatically unlock 15 minutes after the last failed login attempt. • RESERVED_KEYWORDS Option – turns on individual keywords. See Reference: Statements and Options > Database Options > Alphabetical List of Options > RESERVED_KEYWORDS Option.
• ROUND_TO_EVEN – new option. When ROUND_TO_EVEN option is set to ON, the ROUND function rounds half to the nearest even number. When the option is set to OFF (the default), the ROUND function rounds half away from zero. • IDENTITY_INSERT Option – the characters # or @ are now supported in a tablename when enclosed in single quotation marks. For example:
  SET OPTION IDENTITY_INSERT = '@Customers'
