Sybase Central and Interactive SQL are the main tools for multiplex administration. For SQL syntax, see Appendix A, “Multiplex Reference.” For Sybase Central, see Managing servers (Sybase Central). You can also generate administrative scripts with Sybase Central, as described in “Using administrative shell scripts”.
Managing servers (Sybase Central)
Right-click the desired server.
Select the desired operation from the menu.
You can perform the following operations from the popup menus:
View IQ Agent properties (version, port number, timeout setting) or Agent log.
Disconnect or drop the selected server.
Open Interactive SQL
This option connects without requiring the user to enter login information.
Rename, stop, or synchronize the selected server. If the server is a coordinator, ping the host, rename, or stop the server.
Generate Administrative Scripts
Use this option to create or update the optional scripts that start or stop the server. You should generate the scripts after you install a new release or update of Sybase IQ. See “Using administrative shell scripts”.
View the selected server’s properties
View the console log.
Wizards on the coordinator (Start, Stop, and Synchronize) allow you to affect all servers in the multiplex.
