CHECKPOINT Statement

Checkpoints the database.

Syntax

CHECKPOINT

Usage

CHECKPOINT forces the database server to execute a checkpoint. Checkpoints are also performed automatically by the database server according to an internal algorithm.   • SQL—Vendor extension to ISO/ANSI SQL grammar.

  • Sybase—Supported by Adaptive Server Enterprise.

Permissions

Must have DBA or OPERATOR authority to checkpoint a database.
