An article is the basic unit of replication and contains either a table or a view to replicate. Articles are gathered together into a publication to be replicated by the replication process. Articles have no symbol in the diagram, but are listed on the Articles tab of a publication property sheet.
An article can contain the following items:
Columns – contains the table or view columns to replicate (see Columns (DMM)).
Scripts – specify instructions for executing a specific function in a database (see Event Scripts (DMM)).
Where Clauses – let you filter rows out of an article to publish.
