Creating a unit of measure (Sybase Central)

Several units of measure are installed with the software. If the installed units of measure are not appropriate for your data, you can create your own.

Prerequisites

DBA authority, or a member of the SYS_SPATIAL_ADMIN_ROLE group.

 Create a unit of measure (Sybase Central)

  1. Connect to the database as a user with DBA authority, or as a member of the SYS_SPATIAL_ADMIN_ROLE group.

  2. In the left pane, click Spatial Reference Systems.

  3. In the right pane, click the Units of Measure tab.

  4. Right-click the tab and click New » Unit Of Measure.

  5. Click Create A Custom Unit of Measure, and then click Next.

  6. Specify a name in the What Do You Want To Name The New Unit Of Measure? field, and then click Next.

  7. Select Linear in the Which Type of Unit Of Measure Do You Want To Create? field.

  8. Follow the instructions in the Create Unit Of Measure Wizard.

  9. Click Finish.

Results

A unit of measure is created.

You can grant permissions to users in your database to create, alter, or drop spatial reference systems and units of measure.
