The rshost utility can be started in the following ways:

• as a Windows service
• automatically
• automatically with customizations

Starting rshost as a Windows service is the recommended method. Note that starting rshost manually on a command line is not supported and not recommended.

Relay server configuration files may be encrypted using the SQL Anywhere Command File Hiding Utility (dbfhide.exe). A backup of the original plain text file is recommended. See File Hiding utility (dbfhide).
