IBM AIX 5.1 ML02 is the minimum Operating System level supported on Adaptive Server version 12.5.3a. The following operating system levels are supported:
AIX 5.1 ML02
AIX5.2 ML04
AIX 5.3
Additional operating system and firmware patches may be required when running on the IBM Regatta family of servers. See the Sybase Web site for detailed information.
To ensure that isql works properly in the AIX 5.1 environment, set the environment variable IRS_NONISPLUS to 1. For more information, see your IBM documentation.
For best performance, use JRE version 1.1.6 or higher.
If your operating system requires patches, install them before you install Adaptive Server components.
To determine which patches have been installed on your system, see “Viewing installed patches,” next.
For a complete list of patches, contact your operating system representative. Do not use a patch that is earlier than the version suggested for your operating system. Use the patch recommended by the operating system vendor, even if it supersedes the patch listed.
To determine which patches have been installed on your system, enter:
/usr/sbin/swlist -l product | fgrep PH
To determine which Extension Pack bundle has been installed on your system, enter:
/usr/sbin/swlist -l bundle | fgrep 'Extension Pack
To determine which patches have been installed on your system, enter:
/usr/bin/lslpp -l
To determine which OS has been installed on your machine, enter:
/usr/bin/oslevel -g
