Defining the file system resource for the secondary node

From the GUI

  1. Select Tasks from the menu bar.

  2. Select Resources.

  3. Select Define a Resource and complete the following fields.

    Resource Type

    file system

    The type of resource to define. The FailSafe system includes predefined resource types; you can define your own resource types as well. See your SGI documentation for information.

    Resource

    /vol2

    The name of the resource to define. For file system resource types, this is the mount point.

  4. Click Next. Enter the type-specific attributes in the following fields:

    Volume Name

    x1v2

    The name of the xlv volume associated with the file system, as defined previously.

    Mount Options

    rw

    The mount options to be used for mounting the file system, which are the mount options that must be passed to the –o option of the mount (1M) command. The list of available options is provided in fstab(4).

    Monitoring Level

    2

    The monitoring level to be used for the file system. A monitoring level of 1 specifies to check whether the file system exists in /etc/mtab; level 2 is a more intrusive check that is more reliable.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Select Tasks menu, Resources.

  7. Select Add/Remove Dependencies for a Resource Definition. Enter the following type-specific attributes:

    Select a value from the pull-down list.

    Resource

    /vol2

    The list of values is displayed for the Resource Type.

    List of Dependencies:

    N/A

    Information line.

    Dependency Type

    volume

    Similar to Resource Type.

    Dependency Name

    x1v2

    Similar to Resource; the list of values is limited based on the Dependency Type.

  8. Click Add. Click OK.

From the command line

Enter:

cluster_mgr –f sec_fs_resource_def
