Defining the primary node

From the GUI

  1. Select Tasks from the menu bar.

  2. Select Nodes from the Tasks pull-down menu and complete the following fields:

  3. Click Add.

    Node ID

    1

    (Optional) An integer in the range 1 – 32767 that is unique among the nodes in the pool. If you do not specify a number, FailSafe calculates a node ID.

    Partition ID

    Unset

    (Optional) An integer between 1 – 32767 that is unique among the nodes in the pool. If you do not specify a number, FailSafe calculates an ID for you.

    Set Reset Parameters

    Check

    A special hardware port on a node that provides a way to reset the node remotely

  5. Once you have completed your entries, click Next.

  6. Select the Set Reset Parameters box. The following fields are enabled:

    Name of the terminal port (TTY) on the owner node to which the system controller is connected

  7. Click OK.

From the command line

From the command line, enter:

cluster_mgr –f pri_node_def
