WARNING! [Bug #236936] Machines running the ev4 or ev5 processors (less than 350Mhz) may get instruction emulation warnings, such as:
inst emulated pid=nnn <prog_name> va=0xvirtual_addrpc=0xpc_addr inst=0xactual_instr
The operating system (OS) traps for byte/word instructions and executes them as if an ev6 processor instruction. This emulation may cause a performance degradation.
Machines running the ev6 processor and greater do see performance gains.
You can turn off the emulated instructions warning display using iec.
If you are not using ev6, you may see severe performance degradation.
