You may find that the server configuration utilities (srvbuild, dsedit, sqlloc, sqlupgrade and asecfg) cannot be run when the local DISPLAY variable is set to a Solaris workstation.
If you may see an error from the X11 windowing system that indicates a "BadLength" error has occurred. In this case, Sybase recommends that you display the configuration utilities on a local Linux system console or set the DISPLAY value to point to a workstation using another platform such as Microsoft Windows.
