Stopping SQL Anywhere

Stop the SQL Anywhere developer edition server using the documented procedure. If you rely on using the icons in the icon tray, you may inadvertently shut down the incorrect server instance.

If you started the SQL Anywhere demo in addition to also having started the Service Container Runtime database in Service Container, you will have two SQL Anywhere icons in your icon tray.

  1. Disconnect from SQL Anywhere. In the Enterprise Explorer, right-click the SQL Anywhere connection profile and select Disconnect.
  2. Stop the server. Select Start > Programs > Sybase > Sybase WorkSpace > SQL Anywhere 10.0 > Stop SQL Anywhere. SQL Anywhere stops. For more information on using SQL Anywhere, see the SQL Anywhere documentation located at the main level of the Sybase WorkSpace online bookshelf. If this server documentation is not installed, the documentation is available on the Sybase Product Manuals Web site at http://sybooks.sybase.com.
