Reverse Engineering a Database from the Connection Profile

Launch a Power Designer wizard that allows you to reverse engineer a Physical Data Model from a live database connection.

Prerequisites

You must have an existing connection profile from which the database schema is derived.

  1. In the Enterprise Explorer, right-click a database and select Reverse Engineer Database from Connection Profile. You reverse engineer the schema for an existing database, by using connection information in the profile.
  2. Specify the Physical Data Model. Complete details are documented in the Power Designer documentation. To review reverse engineering details, see the documentation collection available on the Sybase Product Manuals Web site at http://sybooks.sybase.com.
