UDDI Registries

A UDDI registry is a server that implements the UDDI standard to store and publish Web services.

A UDDI registry is either public or private. A private registry is available only to authorized users. A public registry can be searched for Web services by anyone.

• UDDI Server
  The common services layer provides an UDDI server that you can use to create a private EAServer-hosted UDDI server, which thereby allows you to run the UDDI server locally on the same server as the Service Container runtime.
• Setting up the UDDI Server
  The common services layer provides command scripts that you can use to set up an EAServer-hosted UDDI server. Once you have set up the private UDDI server, it automatically runs within the same EAServer host as Service Container.
• Starting and Stopping the UDDI Server
  Once you have set up the private UDDI server, it automatically runs within the same EAServer host as Service Container.
• Creating a UDDI Registry Connection Profile
  Create a UDDI Registry connection profile, which contains the connection information for a UDDI server, to use a UDDI registry in your project.
• Pinging a Server
  Use the Enterprise Explorer to check if the server is up and running.
• Connecting to a Server
  If you did not select the Autoconnect at Start-up option when defining a connection profile, you can manually connect to a server.
• Searching a UDDI Registry
  After you connect to a UDDI registry, you can search the UDDI registry.
• Refreshing a Server Connection
  After you modify the properties of a connection profile, refresh the server connection and update its display in the Enterprise Explorer.
• Disconnecting From a Server
  Use Enterprise Explorer to disconnect from a server.
• UDDI Server Security Roles
  Implement user authorization with the use of security roles. Membership in a role determines the level of authorization for a given user. To establish user authorization, map UDDI roles to EAServer roles to implement your own security policy.
