Using WorkSpace License Manager

You can view current license information, extend an Evaluation license, or upgrade your license using the WorkSpace License Manager.

  1. Select Window > Preferences from the main menu bar.

    The Preferences dialog opens.

  2. Expand Sybase, Inc in the left pane and select WorkSpace License Manager.

    The WorkSpace License Manager dialog displays in the right pane.

  3. Select the tab for the action you want to perform.

    License Files Displays the installed license files. Highlight a license to display the license contents in the lower pane. To add a new served license to WorkSpace License Manager:
    1. Click Add.
    2. Browse to the location of the license file you want to add and click Open.

      The license file is added to WorkSpace License Manager.

    Select a license and click Remove to remove a license file from the WorkSpace License Manager.

    Licenses Displays all the currently installed package licenses. Highlight a license to display the features associated with the package. The Features in Selected Package pane displays information about the license:
    • Name – name of the package or feature.

      Packages have a ws prefix, or [Granted License], which is used as the package for all licenses granted with a Graced status.

      Features have an sws prefix.

    • Description – the description of the component associated with the license.
    • Expiry Date – shows the date the license will expire.
    • Status – shows the status of the license:
      • Trial
      • Expired
      • Expirable
      • Graced
      • Error

    Expirable and graced licenses may also show [in use], which indicates that the feature is checked out for use.

    A blank field indicates that the feature is properly licensed. If the Status is Trial, Expire, or Error, click on the Error Messages tab to see an explanation.

    Error Messages Displays the error messages associated with the currently selected package and feature. It is possible to have more than one error message associated with the package or feature.
  4. Click Add to add a served license to the WorkSpace License Manager.
  5. Click OK to apply any changes you made. A confirmation dialog displays notifying you that you must restart WorkSpace for the changes to take effect.
  6. In the confirmation dialog, click Yes to restart WorkSpace now. Click No to restart WorkSpace manually, at a later time.
