Creating a Dynamic Web Project

Create a dynamic Web project to house project resources.

Prerequisites 

Open Project Explorer.

  1. In the Project Explorer, right-click Dynamic Web Projects and select New > Dynamic Web Project.
  2. Define these properties, then click Next:
    Field Action
    Project Name Enter a name for the project.
    Project Contents Accept the default project content files or unselect Use Default and browse to add files.
    Target Runtime Select the runtime server, or click New to define a new runtime server.
    Add Project to an EAR Add the new module to an enterprise application project. Then, enter the EAR project name.
  3. Select the project facets to include in your project and click Next.
    Note: Click Save to save the list of project facets as a preset list.
  4. Configure the following Web module settings:
    Field Action
    Context Root Enter the Web application root, which is the top-level directory of your application when it is deployed to a Web server.
    Content Directory Enter the directory for storing the Web module metadata.
    Java Source Directory Enter the directory for storing the Java source.
  5. Click Finish to save the project definition and exit the wizard.
The new project and its associated references appear in the Project Explorer under Dynamic Web Projects.
