Viewing Services and Service Operations

You can view both the public and private services that are in your workspace.

You can also view information about services and service operations. Additionally, you can drag a service operation from the Service Explorer and drop it onto a composite service.

  1. Select Window > Show View > Other from the main menu bar.
  2. Expand Sybase and select Service Explorer.
  3. Group the services and operations:
    1. Click Menu Menu on the toolbar.
    2. Select Group By.
    3. Define the way you want the Service Explorer to display operations.
      Table 1. Service Explorer operations
      Option Description
Service Type (default) Displays the services and operations by type
Service Categories Orders categories in the user-defined categories in the Services preference page and set in individual service editors
Service (default) Groups services as public or private as well as specific services
Operation Displays all operations without showing the service type
  4. Click Menu Menu on the toolbar and select either Expand All or Collapse All to control the number of items that are visible.
Note: Public contains only SOAP services. Private contains all other services.
  5. Click Menu Menu on the toolbar, select Choose filter type, and select one of the following to set the filter to display:
    • By Category
    • By Service Name
    • By Service Type
  6. Each of the above groups can also be set to limit the number of services displayed. The default is Service Name.
    1. When you select the filter in step 5, click on the arrow in front of the Filter: label.

The Filter section of the Service Explorer expands to display an additional field, two radio buttons, and an ellipsis (...) button.

    2. In the Filter by field, enter the filter expression.

For example, entering an A would indicate the filtering would be based on services that begin with the letter A.

    3. Select one of the following:
      Option Description
Select Include To display all matches for the filter expression entered above.

For example, all services with a name that begins with A display.

Select Exclude To display all matches except those with the filter expression entered.
    4. Click the ellipsis Ellipse button to open the filter selection dialog.
  7. Click an icon on the toolbar to display parts of the WSDL by:
