Refreshing the Default SQL Anywhere Database

Service Container provides a database template that enables you to move a clean copy of the database into your environment during any phase of your development, test, or production life cycle. For example, you might want a clean copy of the database after your testing cycle when you are ready to move to production and do not want your test data in the production database.

  1. Stop Service Container.
  2. Locate and copy the database template: <installation directory>\SC\dbs\template\SCRuntime.db.
  3. Locate the production file: <installation directory>\SC\dbs\SCRuntime.db.
  4. If the production database has the same name as the template database, rename the runtime database. This allows you to have the production file as a backup.
  5. Paste the database template and overwrite the existing runtime database file.
  6. Restart Service Container.
