Editing a Message Definition

Use the Message Definition editor to model a custom wire format message as a tree of containers and fields.

1. In the WorkSpace Navigator of the Service Development perspective, expand the project that contains the message definition with which you want to work.
2. Expand MessageDesigns, then expand MessageDefinitions.
3. To open the message definition in the Message Definition editor, double-click the message definition with which you want to work.

   The message definition has a .wfim file name extension.

4. Select the Message Details tab and do any of the following in any combination:
   
   • Add a container.
   • Add a field.
   • Drag and drop a container or field to another location in the tree.

     When you drag the field, a horizontal line appears, indicating the new location.

   • Use accelerator keys to add child nodes and insert sibling nodes in the message tree.
