Database Event Management with Replication Server Implementation

Using replication, duplicate versions of database events are copied and synchronized as a set of replicas.

Replication Server® simplifies data movement and synchronization across enterprise systems. By using replication, duplicate versions of a database (database events) are copied and synchronized as a set of replicas so that changes made to one replica are reflected in all others.

Replication Server enables a database administrator to quickly set up redundant disaster recovery sites and data synchronization across heterogeneous database platforms, such as Sybase ASE, Oracle, IBM DB2, or Microsoft SQL Server. Through data movement and synchronization, companies gain value by optimizing data sharing among application silos when and where the data is needed.

This action is driven by replication agents that serve to detect data changes in source databases. The agents then publish the data updates to Replication Server, which in turn routes the changes as database events to specified targets. With RepConnector as a target, Replication Server can be configured to initiate a database event based on an insert, update, or delete database operation.
