Saving a SQL File As a Template

Use the SQL File Editor to save the contents of a SQL file as a template.

  1. Use your mouse to highlight the SQL statements you want to save as a template.
  2. Right-click over the highlighted statements, and choose Save as Template.
  3. Enter information for the new template.
    Option Description
    Name Type a name for the new template.
    Context Specify the context for the new template:
    • SQL
    • Data Federation
    • SQL-ASA
    • SQL- ASE
    • SQL- ASE15
    • SQL- ASIQ
    • Replication Server
    Description (Optional) Enter a description.
    Pattern Alter the template pattern as necessary in the corresponding text field.
    Insert Variable To insert a variable, place the cursor in the appropriate position in the Pattern field, and select Insert Variable to display a pop-up menu of variables. Double-click a variable selection to insert the variable at the cursor position.
  4. Click OK to create the new template.
