Dropping Multiple Replication Server Artifacts

Drop multiple Replication Server artifacts to remove them from a Replication Server.

  1. Open Enterprise Explorer, and connect to your replicate Replication Server.
  2. Expand the view for your Replication Server connection profile, and expand the view for the replicate database containing the replication artifacts you want to drop.
  3. Press and hold the ctrl key, and select the artifacts you want to drop.
  4. Release the ctrl key, right-click a selected artifact in Enterprise Explorer, and choose Drop from the context menu.
  5. In the Drop Multiple Artifacts wizard, set options in the Articles & Publications tab.
    Option Description
    Drop Options Specify whether or not to drop related replication definitions with a publication. Click Restored Defaults to restore current defaults. To save the drop options as preference defaults, click Save As Defaults.
    Selected Articles & Publications Select articles and publications for dropping:
    • Use Filter by name pattern to display articles and publications according to the name pattern specified in the text field. For example, to display all articles and publications with names that begin with "p", enter p* in the text field, and click Filter.
    • In the Articles & Publications List grid, select articles and publications for dropping. To change the Drop Option setting for a selected article or publication, click in the corresponding column, and select another option from the menu drop-down.
    Use Select All and Deselect All to select or deselect all listed articles and publications. Use Invert to invert selections.
  6. Set options in the Subscriptions tab.
    Option Description
    Drop Options Specify purge options:
    • Choose an option for dropping Without purge:
      • Without suspension: Select this option to drop subscriptions without the with suspension option.
      • With suspension: The with suspension option leaves the connection to the replicate database suspended when drop subscription has completed, so you can manually remove rows.
      • With suspension at active replicate only: For warm standby applications, the option with suspension at active replicate only suspends the active replicate database but not the standby replicate database.
    • Choose an option for dropping With purge:
      • Incrementally: Use the incrementally option to specify that dematerialization occurs in row increments of deletes-per-transaction.

      • Nonincrementally: Select this option for non-incremental dematerialization.

    Click Restored Defaults to restore current defaults. To save the drop options as preference defaults, click Save As Defaults.
    Selected Subscriptions Select subscriptions for dropping:
    • Use Filter by name pattern to display subscriptions according to the name pattern specified in the text field. For example, to display all subscriptions with names that begin with "p", enter p* in the text field, and click Filter.
    • In the Subscriptions List grid, select subscriptions for dropping. To change the Drop Option, Suspension Option, or Incremental Option setting for a selected subscription, click in the corresponding column, and select another option from the menu drop-down.
    Use Select All and Deselect All to select or deselect all listed subscriptions. Use Invert to invert selections.
  7. Set options for other artifacts in the Others tab.
    Option Description
    Filter by name pattern Use Filter by name pattern to display other Replication Server artifacts according to the name pattern specified in the text field. For example, to display all artifacts with names that begin with "p", enter p* in the text field, and click Filter.
    Other Artifacts List Select other artifacts for dropping:
    • The Name column displays the artifact name.
    • The Type column displays the artifact type.
    Use Select All and Deselect All to select or deselect all listed artifacts. Use Invert to invert selections.
  8. Click Next, and specify save and execution properties.
    Field Description
    Generate script Select this option to generate a script for dropping the selected artifacts.
    Enter or select the parent folder Specify an existing project or create a new project in which to save the SQL.
    File name Enter the name of the file in which to store the SQL.
    Execute immediately Execute the SQL immediately. If you do not select this option, you must complete execution of the SQL later to drop the selected artifacts.
  9. Click Finish to drop the artifacts.
