Changing Replication Status for Tables

Use the Mark/Unmark Tables wizard to change the replication status of one or more tables.

Prerequisites 

The Replication Server on which you are changing table replication status should be running, and you should have created and established a connection to the Replication Server.

  1. Expand your Replication Server connection in Enterprise Explorer to display the connector nodes.
  2. Right-click a connector node, and choose Mark/Unmark Tables from the context menu. The Mark/Unmark Tables wizard appears.
  3. Specify settings to display the replicate status of tables in the primary database.
    Setting Description
    Primary Location In the corresponding drop-down menus, specify a primary connection profile type, a primary connection profile name, the name of the primary server, and the name of the primary database. Click Create to create a primary connection profile.
    Display Select a table display option:
    • Display all tables: Select this option to display all tables in the primary database.
    • Display marked tables: Select this option to display only tables that are marked for replication.
    • Display unmarked tables: Select this option to display only tables that are not marked for replication.
    • Display tables by name pattern: Select this option to display tables according to the name pattern specified in the text field. For example, to display all tables with names that begin with "p", enter p* in the text field, and click Filter.
    Select tables Select tables in the list, and click Mark or Unmark to change the replication status. Click Invert Selection to invert the status for selected tables. Use Select All or Deselect All for the entire list.
  4. Click Next, and set the replication mode for text and image columns.
    Field Description
    Tables with text/image columns Highlight a table in the grid to display its text and image columns in the grid below.
    Set text/image column replication mode Select the check-box next to a column to mark it. In the Replication field, specify a replication mode:
    • Do not replicate
    • Always replicate
    • Replicate if changed
    Click Invert Selection to invert the status for highlighted columns. Use Select All or Deselect All for the entire list.
  5. Click Next, and specify save and execution properties.
    Field Description
    Generate script Select this option to generate the script for the changes to replication status.
    Enter or select the parent folder Specify an existing project, or create a new project in which to save the SQL.
    File name Enter the name of the file in which to store the SQL.
    Execute immediately Execute the SQL immediately. If you do not select this option, you must complete execution of the SQL later to implement your changes.
