Database Development Setup Overview

Perform these setup tasks before creating procedural objects or SQL files.

Before creating procedural objects or SQL files:

Start the database server.
Configure your database.
Set database development preferences.
Create a connection profile for your database.

The following tasks are not required for developing procedural objects or SQL files but must be performed before developing a replication system or using real-time messaging.

Develop a replication system:

Install Replication Server.
Configure Replication Server.
Create a Replication Server connection profile.

Use real-time messaging services:

Install TIBCO Enterprise Message Service or IBM WebSphere MQ.
Create a JMS connection profile.
