Adding an OLE Database Provider

Add an OLE DB provider.

Note: To use Adaptive Server Enterprise as an OLE database data source, you must install the Adaptive Server Enterprise OLE DB provider. You can install this OLE DB provider from the Adaptive Server Enterprise Software Developer's Kit 15.x installation media. Also install the Adaptive Server Enterprise PC Client to have Sybase OLE DB Provider display as a selection in the DB provider list.
  1. In the Server Explorer, right-click Data Connections and select Add Connection.
  2. Click Change.
  3. Select Other in the Data Source pane.
  4. Click the down-arrow in the Data Provider field and select .NET Framework Data Provider for OLE DB, then click OK.
  5. Click the down-arrow in the OLE DB Provider field and select the provider.
  6. Enter a server or file name.
  7. Enter the information to log on to the server and click OK.
