Assigning a Personalization Key to a Parameter

Assign a personalization key to allow the mobile user to define, or personalize, certain input fields in a mobile application.

Create and assign a personalization key to a mobile business object (MBO) while creating the MBO, or assign an existing personalization key to the MBO.

  1. Create an MBO, select the Define connection now option to bind the MBO to a data source, and click Next.
  2. From the Authentication Information window, select Override default authentication and Use personalization key.
  3. Choose one or both of the following options:
    Option Description
    Select personalization keys from the drop-down list If you already have personalization keys that you want to use, for example, login and password, select them for the appropriate field. You can also use personalization keys for other fields to be defined later, when you bind the MBO to a data source.
    Create a new personalization key Create a new peronalization key. In the following steps, you can use the personalzation key as an MBO parameter that maps to a data source argument.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Map the MBO parameters to data source arguments in the Specify parameters and Map the parameters to arguments window.

    Later, you can assign a personalization key to any of these mapped parameters.

  6. Continue developing your MBO and click Finish when complete.
  7. In the Mobile Object Diagram, right-click the newly defined MBO and select Detailed Properties.
  8. Click the Parameters tab.
  9. Click More and in the Personalization Key field, select the parameter you are using as a personalization key .
  10. Select the personalization key to use for this parameter from the Personalization Key drop-down field.
