Creating an Operation for a Mobile Business Object

Create an operation to enable the mobile business object to perform a task.

Prerequisites Create a mobile business object (MBO).
  1. Drag Operations from the Toolbox and drop it onto the mobile business object in the mobile application diagram.
  2. Enter the operation Name, select the operation Type, and optionally enter a Description.
  3. Click Next.
  4. If you do not want to connect to a data source at this time, select Define Connection Later, then click Next .

You can bind the operation to a data source later.

  5. Enter the parameters for the operation.

To support attribute and parameter nullability, in addition to supporting literal default values, a default value of null and of no default value is supported. Select the default value on the Specify Parameters page to open the Default Value Editor where you can select the type and value of the default value. The choices are None, which means there is no default value, Null, which means there is a default value and that value is null, and Single Literal, where you must then enter the literal value.

  6. (Optional) Click Next to view the Summary Page.
  7. Click Finish.
