Configuring Unwired Platform Components

Before starting and working with Unwired Platform, components need to be configured correctly.

How you configure components will vary depending on your needs. Review each component's requirements before starting Unwired Platform.

Configuring Unwired Server
Unwired Server is the application server included with Sybase Unwired Platform that manages mobile applications, back-end data source synchronization, communication, security, transactions, and scheduling. Configuration tasks for Unwired Server vary depending on many factors, including whether you are deploying Unwired Server to a development or production environment.
Configuring Afaria
Configuration tasks for Afaria vary depending on many factors, including whether you are installing a new instance of Afaria with Unwired Platform, whether you are installing Afaria and Unwired Server on different machines, or whether you would like to use an existing instance of Afaria on your network.
Installing Third-party Software for Each Server in a Cluster
If using third-party software with Sybase Unwired Platform, copy the third-party software components (DLLs, JARs, and libraries) to each server in a cluster.
Port Number Reference
Change Sybase Unwired Platform component port numbers as needed postinstallation.
