Creating a Replication Server Article

A Replication Server article is an extension to a replication definition that allows table replication definitions or function replication definitions to be part of a publication.

Prerequisites 

Make sure the Replication Server is running. Create and establish a connection to the server.

  1. Expand the view for your Replication Server connection profile, right-click a primary database for which to create articles, and choose New Artifact.
  2. Highlight Article and click Next.
  3. Specify properties for the article.
    Field Example
    Article Name Enter a name for the article.
    Primary Data Location Select a Primary Server and a Primary Database.
    Publication Setting Select a publication to contain the article.
    Replication Definition Setting Provide either a Table Replication Definition or a Function Replication Definition for which this article is to be created.
  4. (Optional) Click Next, and specify a where clause.
    1. Click Add to open the Where Clause Setting wizard.
      Field Example
      Name Select a column.
      Operator Select a Boolean operator.
      Value Enter a value for the where-clause condition.
      Remove, Remove All Remove a highlighted criterion or all criteria, as necessary.
    2. Click OK when you are done specifying a where clause.
  5. Click Finish to create the article.
