Configure Data Sources for ECDA Option for ODBC

You must create and configure the data source name (DSN) for each ECDA component for ECDA Option for ODBC to connect to target databases.

DB2 UDB
Microsoft SQL Server
ODBC-accessible target

Note: The DataDirect driver is not included with the ECD Option for ODBC, but the information in this topic can help you connect to the various targets.

Use the attributes listed in the section for each ECDA product and a text editor to define the data source entries. The odbc.ini file is installed in the install_dir\DC-15_0 directory.

Connect to the Target Databases
You must create and configure the data source name (DSN) for each ECDA target database on the Windows platform.
Connect to DB2 UDB
Before you can use ECDA components on the target DB2 UB database, configure the DSN and verify the special key string in the Windows Registry.
Connect to Microsoft SQL Server on Windows
After installing Microsoft Data Access Component (MDAC), you must configure the DSN for each ECDA product.
