Basic software components for Oracle

You must install the software components in Figure 10-1 to access an Oracle database in PowerBuilder.

The figure shows the components of an Oracle database connection. At top is the Development environment. It is   connected to the Database interface D L Ls called P B 0 7 3 n 0, 8 4 n 0, or 9 0 n 0 dot D L L, which are supplied by Sybase. The Database interface D L Ls are connected  to the Oracle Sequel * Net or Net 8 client software. The client software can go through a network layer, if any, using any supported network protocol supplied by a network or database vendor, and it connects finally to an Oracle version 7 dot 3, 8 dot x / 8 i or 9 i database.
