Hardware and software requirements

Table 1-3 shows the system hardware and software requirements for SDK and Open Server.

Only Open Server, E/SQL, Client-Library, and DB-Library support Microsoft Named Pipes.

On Microsoft Windows 2000 x86, Microsoft Windows 2003 x86, Microsoft Windows XP x86, Microsoft Windows 2008, and Microsoft Windows Vista x86 systems, the ODBC drivers are 32-bit. All required network software that your database system vendors supply must be 32-bit compliant.

On Microsoft Windows 2003 x86-64, Microsoft Windows XP x86-64, Microsoft Windows Vista x86-64, and Microsoft Windows 2008 x86-64, both 64-bit and 32-bit ODBC and OLE DB drivers are installed. All required network software that your database system vendors supply must be 64-bit compliant.
