Assigning routing rules

Each client connection to a shared-disk cluster is associated with a logical cluster. That association can be based on a routing rule; it can also be based on the lack of a routing rule, which means the connection is routed to the open logical cluster.

If the connection cannot be directed to a logical cluster, either because the target logical cluster is offline or the client does not support login redirection, the connection can be handled according to the target logical cluster’s down-routing mode. See “Down-routing mode” for information about specifying down-routing rules.
