Elliptic curve cryptography is used to secure server to device connections. This helps with the on-device performance of your handheld. Elliptic curves are used in this crypto system to take a set of elements and perform arithmetic operations on them.
On Win32 and Windows Mobile 5 and 6 platforms, a FIPS 140-2 compliant SSL library provides secure data transport between the mobile device and M-Business Server. For implementation details, see FIPS 140-2 compliant SSL library support.
You can use a FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption scheme to protect data stored on mobile devices by using UltraLite as the on-device database manager. For more information, see Using UltraLite for M-Business Anywhere for On-device Data.
