Uninstalling Sybase software

To uninstall Sybase software, a shell script is provided in /Applications/Sybase/System/Install/SybaseAdaptiveServerEnterprise called uninstall.

WARNING! This script will remove everything in /Applications/Sybase.

If you have set up your system to automatically restart Sybase services, these StartupItems will also be deleted. Finally, the receipt for the installation, found in /Library/Receipts, will also be removed.

The uninstall script is destructive; to make sure running this script is not accidental, it requires a single argument: 'override', before it will allow installation files to be removed. Also, it must be run with superuser privileges, as follows:

sudo ./uninstall override
