This is a binary overlay, but you must first upgrade the operating system upgrade before installing Adaptive Server 12.5.1. Perform the following to move from 12.5.x 64-bin on AIX 4.3.3:
Backup all databases in Adaptive Server 12.5.x running on AIX 4.3.3.
Shutdown the 12.5.x Adaptive Server.
Backup the 12.5.x Adaptive Server Sybase release area.
Upgrade the operating system from AIX 4.3.3 to AIX 5.1 following the instructions in the AIX manuals.
Install the 64-bit Adaptive Server version 12.5.1 for AIX 5.1 over the Adaptive Server 12.5.x release area using instructions in section “Installing Adaptive Server version 12.5.1 over an existing version 12.5.x.”
