ASE User-Defined Functions

Supported for Adaptive Server 15.0.2 in addition to SQL Anywhere and Sybase IQ, user-defined functions are a class of procedures that return a single value to the calling environment.

Unless otherwise declared at creation, user-defined functions are treated as deterministic: They are assumed to always return the same result set for a given set of parameters and to have no unwanted side effects on the underlying data.

  Create a user-defined function in ASE.
• Editing an ASE User-Defined Function
  After creating a user-defined function, use the editor to modify parameters, permissions, or other properties.
• Running an ASE User-Defined Function
  Run an ASE user-defined function without invoking a launch configuration. Running a user-defined function allows you to run and obtain SQL results from the database.
