Service Development tools enable you to create, discover, edit,
share, deploy, and publish services.
Sybase WorkSpace supports service-oriented architecture, using
services to encapsulate business process logic and data into
reusable units. You can deploy services independently or
incorporated into a composite service.
New and changed features include:
- You can create a service without specifying its endpoint binding, for example, Business Process, Database, Java, EJB, Messaging, Monitor, SOAP, or Transformation. Also you can bind abstract service interfaces to an endpoint type during implementation, or at a later stage of service development
- Binding editors for each service type are now available.
- In earlier versions of WorkSpace, the service proxies that were generated for services invoked by Java Services were generated into the same project as the service. They are now generated into a project called ProxyProject, which is created automatically if it does not already exist.
- Enterprise Explorer supports United Agent Framework (UAF) and access to a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory.
- LDAP connection profile.
- E-mail connection profile for use with a message service.
- SMS connection profile for use with a message service.
- JMS messages are routed more quickly when a JMS header is used, because information in the message body does not need to be parsed.
- Web service security support.
- Improved exception handling is provided for a composite Java service. A Java Editor preference setting allows exceptions that occur when calling other services to be handled either
by the Java service or rethrown.
- Incremental deployment.
- Enhanced logging.
