Deploying a Web Application to Apache Tomcat

Deploy your Web application to and run it on Apache Tomcat.

The Tomcat server is installed locally. You can start, stop, or refresh Apache Tomcat inside Sybase WorkSpace.

Tomcat supports hot deployment, which means modifications to a page are refreshed in the runtime environment. When you run a project on Tomcat, the Web application is automatically deployed.

  1. In the WorkSpace Navigator, right-click the Web application project that you want to run and select Run as.
  2. To deploy a Web application to a Tomcat server outside of the Sybase WorkSpace environment, export the application into a WAR file and manually follow the Tomcat server deployment process.
