Using Expressions and Control Variables in Operators

Many view model operators in WorkSpace Data Federation allow you to specify expressions that are evaluated at runtime to configure how your view model behaves.

1. Double-click the operator to open its properties dialog.
2. See the operator’s setting properties topic for information on how to use expressions with this operator. You can use the expressions menu to enter parameters, variables, input column names, and other components of an expression. Right-click in any field that accepts expressions to display the menu.

  You do not need to know any JavaScript to write simple expressions in WorkSpace Data Federation. In any field where you can enter an expression, you can use the expressions menu to choose the parameters, variables, logical operators, predefined functions, and input column names with which you construct your expression.
