Testing a Device Application

You can test a device application on an emulator running within Visual Studio.

1. Install and configure Microsoft ActiveSync.
   
2. From the main Visual Studio menu, select Tools > Device Emulator Manager .
3. Select the emulator, right-click, and choose Connect.
4. In the device emulator, select Start > Settings .
5. Select the Connections tab, then click Connections.
6. Select the Advanced tab, then click Select Networks.
7. Under Programs that Automatically Connect to the Internet Should Connect Using, select My Work Network, then click OK.
8. Click OK, then click X.
9. In the Device Emulator Manager, right-click the emulator, and choose Cradle.
10. In the Solution Explorer, select the device-application project, right-click, and select Deploy.
11. In the device emulator, select Start > File Explorer > My Device > Program Files .
12. Select your project name, then the application name.
