Device applications created in Unwired Platform 1.0 are automatically updated for version 1.2.
Migration of device application files from Sybase Unwired Platform 1.0 to 1.2 is automatic when you:
- Open the version 1.0 device application file.
- Save the device application file.
- Re-deploy the device application file.
Note: If you are using a File MBO in the device application, copy the cod files from
%UnwiredPlatform%\Servers\UnwiredServer\clientAPI\dotnet\Afaria\RIM42\ServerInstallPath\ClientESD\RIM
to your BlackBerry Simulator location.
Regenerate the BlackBerry mobile application from the Device Application Designer and redeploy the application to the emulator or device following usual deployment steps.
When opening device application files from earlier Unwired Platform versions, the device application is updated in the following ways:
- For any menu item that has the "in table context" set to true, a new Save Context action is added at the top of the Action list. The action uses the widget and relationship that was originally selected for the menu item.
- The Menu item no longer supports the relationship property, so it is removed.
- A schema_type attribute is added to all previous user variables and persist action nodes, and the values are set to STRING. When you open the Variable Reference, Create Variable, or Persist Action dialogs, those variables (or literals) will have the STRING data type.
