Create a new connection pool that defines the connection properties needed to connect to a new datasource.
Prerequisites
Ensure you are logged in with the correct user name that has been assigned to the SUP Administrator role. Only this role can access the administration features of Sybase Control Center for Unwired Platform.
Note: You can administer multiple servers concurrently, but must log in to each separately.
Connection templates exist for SAP and JDBC connections.
-
In the left pane, click the Unwired Server you are currently logged in to.
-
Below the server name, click Connections.
-
On the Connections tab, click New.
-
Enter a unique Connection pool name.
-
Select the Connection pool type and configure which template to use for that type:
-
Template default properties appear, along with any predefined values. You can customize the template, if required, by performing either of these actions:
- Editing existing property values – click the corresponding cell and change the value that appears.
- Adding new properties – click the
<ADD_NEW_PROPERTY>
cell in the Property column and select the required property name. You can then set values for any new properties you add.
Note: Properties that appear in red are required. You cannot connect to the datasource without the correct value. You cannot modify property names that appear in gray.
-
Test the values you have configured by clicking Test Connection. If the test fails, either values you have configured are incorrect, or the data source target is unavailable. Evaluate both possibilities and try again.
-
Click OK to register the connection pool.
The name appears in the available connection pools table on the Connections tab. Administrators can now use the connection pool to deploy packages.
