On HP systems, if the expanded_node_host_names kernel parameter is not set to the default value of 0 and the host name is greater than eight characters, the Sybase IQ installer reports this warning, even if you are installing on a supported version of the operating system:
The installer is unable to verify whether your operating system meets the minimum requirements.
If you continue to install, the installer reports:
Errors occurred during the installation. An error occurred and production installation failed. Look at the log file <path>log.txt for details.
log.txt contains various errors,
including no such file or directory.
Workaround: Set the expanded_node_host_names kernel parameter to the default value of 0.
