Issues you should know when you install Sybase IQ with other Sybase Products.

CR # Description

  • Installer hangs when you install Sybase IQ into the same directory as Sybase IQ InfoPrimer (IQIP) – Sybase products share a common parent directory (%Sybase%), but individual products are installed in separate subdirectories.
  • Workaround – Do not install Sybase IQ and Sybase IQIP into the same directory. Create a subdirectory under %SYBASE% when you install Sybase IQIP. For example, install the IQIP server into %SYBASE%\IQIPS-15_3 (or install the IQIP Development Tool to %SYBASE%\IQIPD-15_3), which is actually the default directory of IQIP on Windows, and then install Sybase IQ to %SYBASE%.

  • Cannot start Sybase Central after installing Sybase IQ 15.4 on top of Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.7
  • Workaround – Modify the scjview.ini file under %SYBASE%\Shared\Sybase Central 6.1.0\win64 to point the JRE_DIRECTORY to %SYBASE%\Shared\JRE-6_0_24_64BIT instead of %SYBASE%\Shared\JRE-6_0_20_64BIT. Start the Sybase Central of IQ and then manually register the IQ plugin.
