Installation instructions for the Sybase IQ 15.1 ESD #3 GUI differ from those in the Installation and Configuration Guide: the installer includes an additional license validation step. Validating your license before you install this update will ensure that your database functions correctly after you install the software.
License validation is supported in GUI installations and Silent installations. If you install this update on a UNIX-like OS, make sure you use the same shell to start the installer (either Silent or GUI) that you use to start your current IQ server. This can be verified by ensuring that $IQDIR15 environment variable is set.
Stop any servers running in the install directory before
you install this update.
