What a server installation does

A typical server installation installs Sybase IQ server and support components into a parent directory on the host machine.

Parent installation directory

The parent directory contains files, scripts, and other objects required to support Sybase IQ server.

You must set the $SYBASE variable to a directory on the file system before you can start the installer. Setting this variable also determines the parent installation directory. You can, however, specify another target directory during the installation process.

SySAM licenses and utilities. This directory contains three subdirectories: /bin, /licenses, and /log.

uninstall

Subdirectories for scripts that uninstall IQ and SySAM.

Sybase IQ installation directory

The Sybase IQ installation directory is IQ-15_2, and is a subdirectory within $SYBASE .

This directory contains files, scripts, and other objects required to run Sybase IQ server. This document uses the variable $IQDIR15 to refer to the Sybase IQ installation directory. A list of the major subdirectories you are likely to use in this directory during installation appears in the table below.
