Checking the Sybase IQ Agent on UNIX

Use the -agent option to check the status of Sybase IQ Agent.

1. Run the stop_iq utility with the -agent option:

   stop_iq -agent

2. If no running agent is owned by your username, change to $IQDIR15/bin<platform> and run S99SybaseIQAgent15.
   • To start the agent using the host name returned by uname -n use the optional -host parameter:

     S99SybaseIQAgent15 -host

   • Start the agent with the host’s alias: S99SybaseIQAgent15 -host <foo> where foo is an alias present in the /etc/hosts file.
