The repository administrator can automate the sending of passwords to users by specifying an SMTP server for PowerDesigner to use. To specify an SMTP server, connect to the repository and select
.If an SMTP server is not specified, the administrator must distribute passwords manually. The SMTP server can also be used to send change notifications from the PowerDesigner Portal (see Subscribing to Change Notifications).
The following settings are available for configuring PowerDesigner's connection to your SMTP server:
